STEM camp has begun!

Students arrived with smiles to enjoy the first day of summer camp.  Our theme is water and its properties.  Seems appropriate as we have had the wettest May and June on record here in Vermont!

Children explored how water droplets behave when they are on waxed paper, how many drops of water can fit in a penny, how water can travel on a piece of string and  what materials will sink and which ones will float.

We have created science notebooks so students can record their observations, predictions, and write about what they are learning.

They will use this knowledge tomorrow  to design and create water shoes for a new "bug" that has appeared at our school.  Stay tuned for further adventures of our water scientists as we learn about water in our world.
